We have invested a lot of resources the past two years in removing the invasive multi-flora rose bushes reduced the grazing capacity of the fields. We applied for a grant with the Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NCRS) that includes a reimbursement for Brush Management during 2020, 2021, and 2022 on fields 2, 3a, 4, 5, 11, 12, and 13a. The primary work will be completed by fall of 2021 with maintenance required in 2022 and beyond.
We are applying for additional NCRS grants to enrich our fields and address the invasive multi-flora roses that are encroaching the hay field you walk through on the Chandler Trail. (Field 1).
Forest management will be in our future planning.

Barnyard Visits and Field Trips
We are not currently providing access to the barns, barnyard or homestead for field trips or class outings or tours. We are currently working on several construction and cleanup projects in this area which are not compatible with tours, classes or field trips. We apologize for this inconvenience. We will restart activities in the barnyard area when we can do so in a safe manner. In the meantime we encourage you to continue to use the trails that meander through and beside the fields and farm.
